This sunday we come to the end of our short series called “Small Letters, Big Ideas”. We are going to be looking at the letter of Jude. It is a letter that contains some important big ideas whilst also containing some extremely bizarre ideas. Hopefully we will all walk away with more “light” and less “darkness” about some of the strange ideas contained in the letter! This sunday as part of our service we shall also be celebrating communion. Come along and join us …

This coming sunday we continue our sermon series of “small letters, big ideas”. We turn to are moving onto 2 John. We willsee how we need to be careful about who we are following as role models in life and how it is good to encourage each other as we walk together in following Christ. Come along and join us …


Time for BBQ summer fun!

bbq.gifOn Thursday 2nd August we will be joining with Cornerstone Baptist Church, Ainsdale to have a BBQ. The BBQ is also an opportunity for us as a church to say goodbye to Andy Scholes the student minister at Cornerstone as he has come to the end of his studies and moves on to ministry elsewhere. Over the coming few weeks during the summer we are going to be looking at four of the New Testament letters which we can easily dismiss because they are short (only one chapter!) We can skip over them because we thing they are not important. Yet these small letters contain big ideas which are important for us to grasp today as a church. Small is not irrelevant!! Small letters contain big ideas. This sunday we will start with the letter of 2 John.


Sunday 8th July 2007

This sunday we will be our all-age worship service and we shall be looking at 2 Kings 6:8-23 and the story of Elisha and his servant. Our theme will be about placing our confidence in God whatever the circumstanses of life.

As part of the service we shall be taking a secret ballot as to whether we put our confidence in God just like a general election … Come and vote for God … all are welcome.


Sunday 1st July 2007

This sunday we will be continuing our look at how we are SHAPED for ministry. We will be seeing how our personalities God is in the personality transforming business and also how our personalities can be important in deciding what is it God is calling us to do as people. Bouncy Tots Raise a Fortune!

thumbsupweb.jpgThe recent sponsored bounce by Tiny Tots, our parent and toddler group, has raised over £500!! Thanks to all who took part and the hard work of those who organised it. All money raised will be ploughed back into Tiny Tots to buy new equipment and resources.

This sunday during our morning service (10.30am) we are continuing our look at how we are SHAPED for ministry. We shall be concentrating on how we all have different abilities which we can use for the glory of God.

We will also be showing a short DVD detailing the Southport Area Schools Worker Trust’s relauch and how churches or individuals can get involved with schools work …


June 2007 - All Age Worship

This Sunday (10th June, 10.30am), being the second sunday in the Month, is time for our all age worship service. This month we are hoping to be joined by some of the youth group and the Girls Brigade (GB). The young GB girls are due to lead us in some action songs. There will be fire (well candles!) and water (well washing up bowls!)

We will be looking at 2 Kings 5 and the story of Naaman. Come and join us …


FisH and Girls Brigade BBQ
